What is World Letters?

World Letters is a collection of beautifully illustrated letter adventures for children.

Our first collection, Elsewhere, is designed for readers aged 7 to 11. Each month, children receive a beautifully illustrated letter inspired by a real destination, written by travel writer Tatyana Leonov and illustrated by Helen Ayle.

Elsewhere includes 36 unique adventures, and every letter is a standalone story, so you can begin your journey at any time.

We send one new Elsewhere letter each month.

If you subscribe, you’ll usually receive the next month’s adventure, giving us time to prepare your personalised envelope and welcome you to the journey.

As we grow, we’ll share our monthly mailing schedule so you’ll know exactly when to expect each adventure.

Choose the subscription that’s right for you, then sit back and wait for your adventures to arrive.

Each month, your child will receive a beautifully illustrated letter from a new destination somewhere in the world. Over time, they’ll build their own collection of adventures to treasure and revisit.

Absolutely. You can join at any point during the year.

Every letter is a standalone adventure, so there’s no need to start in January or wait for a new series. You’ll simply begin with the next monthly letter and continue the journey from there.

Elsewhere is designed for readers aged 7 to 11.

Younger children often enjoy sharing the stories with a parent, grandparent or older sibling, while confident readers can enjoy the adventures independently.

Each World Letters adventure is presented as a beautifully illustrated, two-sided letter, designed to be engaging, accessible and enjoyable whether read independently or shared together.
